Review Blog: Show and Tell
Hello and welcome back to my blog! My editing process was now finished, meaning it was time for reviewing. After spending much time editing, filming, and watching my film, it was difficult to objectively review my film. With that in mind, I decided to ask my friends and family for help!
The first person that I asked to view my film was my sister. She loves to watch movies and TV shows so I knew she would be the perfect person to give me feedback. I let her watch the entire film and she gave me some really good feedback. Her first suggestion was to add in a flashback that would explain where Hailey’s mom would be. When she told me this, I quickly realized that the film is a bit unclear with how Hailey decided to go to the mall of all places to search for her mom. I decided to meet up again with Hailey and film a scene of her phone getting a reminder that she had to go to the mall with her mom. This made the plot of my film a lot clearer.
The next person that I let watch my film was my friend Yasmin. Yasmin also had a film of her own, so I though she could give me really good feedback on the more technical parts of my film. I sent her the full video over text messages and waited for her to watch it. After watching it, she texted me back with one major issue that I needed to fix. In my scenes with dialogue, the music that I overlaid was a bit too loud. This made it difficult to hear what the character was saying. With this new information, I split the audio into parts and lowered the sections that would be over dialogue. When I did this, it became much easier to hear.
I let a few more people watch my film and overall they seemed to enjoy it. I was really glad that things turned out how I wanted them to. With all my reviewing done, my final film was complete. This is Kyra signing off!
