Planning For my School PSA Commercial

Image
Hey guys, welcome back to my blog! Props: Being that my group and I came to an agreement to make a commercial promoting the Fort Lauderdale High Mock Trial Team, the main prop we will use is a gavel. We will also use other props like a podium and a trophy. Costumes: In our commercial, we will have 8 subjects in total. This includes all three of our group members at one point along with 5 other people who are members of the Fort Lauderdale High Mock Trial Team. They would all be wearing “court attire”. This means they would dress up as if they were going to court. For the boys, this would include button-up dress shirts that are long-sleeved and could be any color, with any color tie. For bottoms, they would wear dress slacks and for shoes, they would be dress-up style shoes. For the girls, there can be variations. The girls may wear button-up dress shirts like the guys, blouses or a dress. For bottoms, they can wear skirts or dress slacks and for shoes, they may wear either heels or fla

Hello and welcome back to my blog! My group decided to do a School PSA for our commercial. To understand what a PSA typically contains, my group and I watched a few on youtube to help guide our filming. After watching multiple videos we found that school PSAs typically use filming techniques, such as tracking shots and wide shots. These are used to demonstrate student life and establish the different school scenes. Editing techniques like a shot/reverse shot are also used to record dialogue and interactions between students.  In school PSAs, there are multiple codes and conventions used. For example, PSAs always end with some kind of message or warning. This is used to encourage students to do the right thing and enjoy their time at school as much as possible. The costumes used are what you’d expect to see in a high school. Items like hoodies, t-shirts, jeans, and sneakers can be found on the actors. These actors are often shown doing basic activities like walking to classes and soci

Hello and welcome back to my blog! For my upcoming commercial project, I decided to work with my friends Marvin Exantus and Mya Aly. When deciding who I wanted to work with I knew I didn't want a group that was too big. Oftentimes with too many people in a group, it can be hard to effectively communicate and accommodate everybody's needs and suggestions. I also knew that my group members had to be responsible and hard workers. With is information in mind, I chose to work with my two friends. The first person I chose was Marvin. I met him in middle school and once we found out that we would be attending the same high school we became close friends. Us both having a passion for mock trial gave us something we had in common. Since I knew that I wanted someone who wouldn't slack off and leave me with all the work, he was a perfect choice. Being close friends also makes working together much easier because there is no awkwardness or difficulty bonding. The second person I chose

Hey, what's up? My name is Kyra and I'd like to welcome you to my blog! I'm 15 years old and currently a sophomore at Fort Lauderdale High. While I love school as much as the next kid, there's more to me than what's in my pinnacle grade book. For starters, from a little girl to all the way now, I have loved to dance! As of right now, the styles of dance that I do are jazz, hip-hop, ballet, and tap. Every Tuesday and Thursday after school I go to my dance studio and spend hours doing one of the things I love the most. While it can be hard work, the reward of telling a story through my movements is worth it. I even recently got approved to start pointe by my dance instructor!  In addition to dance, another one of my passions is mock trial. Through my high school's mock trial team I have gained so much confidence and have made so many new friends. Traveling to compete with schools across the globe and learning important skills for my future career are some amazing
