Lights, Camera, Action!

Hello and welcome back to my blog! Thankfully Andres was feeling better. This meant it was time to start filming. Since it was a school day, I asked my mom if she could pick all of my group up from school and bring us to the film location. Luckily, she was able to do so.

When I got to the set, the first thing I needed to was change my outfit. The jeans and crop top I had on didn’t really match the character I was playing. Since I was portraying an older woman, I decided to pack a white sweater to wear instead. I also wanted to change into a skirt, but I decided to stick with my jeans instead. This felt much more mature and comfortable!

For the first few scenes, the only person present was Marvin, who was playing the lead role. About an hour into our filming session, it was finally my turn to shine. The first scene I had to film was me hugging Marvin as he was cooking. Despite all my research into natural looking acting, I really struggled with this scene. Since we were friends, it was really difficult to keep a straight face. I kept on laughing, which meant the scene had to be filmed multiple times. I eventually got it together for the perfect shot.

The next scene was also pretty rocky. In this scene, Marvin had to sit me at the dinner table and light a candle.  However, he struggled with the lighter. If he didn’t get it on the first try, we planned to have me grab the lighter and do instead. When I tried to light the candle myself, I also couldn’t get it done. After a few attempts, it finally lit. With the beginning done, it was time to move on to the middle scenes. This is Kyra signing off!
