Planning Blog: Storyboard

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

Page One:

The film starts with a teenage girl, named Hailey, being awoken by the sound of her blaring alarm clock. An eyeline match then cuts to a close up of the alarm clock. A title is placed above it before she hits snooze. Next, a close up of shows Hailey’s feet as she steps out of bed. She stretches to wake up before yelling out to her mom. When she hears no response, she decides to stumble into her bathroom to get ready.

Page Two:

Once in the bathroom, Hailey bends over into the sink to wash her face. A title is placed above her head. After washing her face, she examines in the mirror before leaving the bathroom. Using a tracking shot, the teen is followed out into the hallway where she calls out for her mother again. A title is placed on the closed bathroom door. Hailey then peers out into the hall using an over the shoulder shot. A title is shown on the wall beside her. A pan is used to show the empty living room, which prompts a flashback of when it was once lively.

Page Three:

With a split screen, the teen is shown looking around for anyone in the house. A title is placed on the house plant that she looks behind. After not finding anybody, a Dutch angle is used to show as she sits down on the couch in defeat. A medium close up then shows as she begins to panic over nit finding her mom. Suddenly, her head snaps up as she remembers her mom planned to go to the mall. The girl jumps out the couch and heads outside, only to find her neighborhood empty.

Page Four:

Hailey runs down the street until she reaches the mall. A tilt is used to reveal her standing in front of the abandoned place. A pan of the inside shows the old furniture and empty mall. A title is placed amongst the abandoned furniture. As Hailey walks through the mall, she quickly realizes nobody is there. She calls out for her mom and is saddened by the lack of a response. A title is placed at the bottom right of the screen. The camera then cuts the the exit as she decides to leave.

Page Five:

As the girl walks back, she hangs her head in disappointment. A title is placed in the bottom left corner. When she looks up, she’s notices her front door is open. Thinking her mother is home, she runs to her house. When she gets inside, she excitedly calls out for her mother. An over the shoulder shot shows her shoulder being grabbed by an unknown hand. As the person calls out her name, her eyes widen and the film ends.
