Title Research: Art of the Title Website
Hello and welcome back to my blog! To prepare for our opening sequence, my group and I decided to research what’s contained in an opening sequence. The first website I decided to take a look at was Art of the Title. Immediately after I typed in the URL, I was met with bright colors and interesting covers from movies of all genres. The website was relatively user friendly, as I was able to find where the all title sequences quickly. With a simple drop down menu, I was able to sort the movies by studio or designer. This made finding specific films very easy. However, one thing I did dislike was the lack of sorting options for genre. While some studios typically make films in a particular genre, this isn’t always the case, so finding specifically dystopian title sequences was slightly difficult. Nonetheless, when I did find some, I learned a lot about how directors merge the titles into the film to make it entertaining but still display the main credits. Many of them uses specific colors and fonts to fit the color scheme and theme of the movie. This website was very helpful in helping me understand what opening sequences are composed of. This is Kyra signing off!
