Title Research: Watch the Titles Website

 



Hello and welcome back to my blog! Art of the Title provided my group and I with great examples of different title sequences. To further our research of dystopian title sequences, we decided to look at the Watch the Titles website. Once I arrived on the website, I was met with an eye-catching overview that displayed the different films and interviews on the website. When I scrolled down, I was able to see the variety of content offered on the site. Aside from profession film sequences, there were options to view video games, student-made, and TV show sequences as well. Despite this, when I went to the film section, I was disappointed to find that this website had less options. There also wasn’t any options to filter by genre, which made researching slightly more difficult. While there wasn’t as many films, each sequence contained an interview of the studio who made the film. From this I was able to learn the concepts behind the opening sequence, the technology used to make it, and where the studio took inspiration from. I saw how the use of different fonts added to the film and conveyed the genre. Overall, this website was very helpful in helping me understand title sequences. This is Kyra signing off!

Hello and welcome back to my blog ! Thankfully Andres was feeling better. This meant it was time to start filming. Since it was a school day, I asked my mom if she could pick all of my group up from school and bring us to the film location. Luckily, she was able to do so.  When I got to the set, the first thing I needed to was change my outfit. The jeans and crop top I had on didn’t really match the character I was playing. Since I was portraying an older woman, I decided to pack a white sweater to wear instead. I also wanted to change into a skirt, but I decided to stick with my jeans instead. This felt much more mature and comfortable!  For the first few scenes, the only person present was Marvin, who was playing the lead role. Review Blog: The Final Touches

Hello and welcome back to my blog! My journey through this music video process has been an interesting one, but it is now coming to an end. However, we still had one last issue. Something was missing from our editing in our music video, but we weren't sure what it was.  At first, I thought it was clip lengths. Maybe the scenes were too long and therefore making the video seem boring or uninteresting. When I rewatched the video, I realized it wasn't the length, but instead the editing. I brought this up to my group members and they agreed that we needed to add another editing technique to our video. After some deliberation, we decided to add a split screen at the beginning of the video. This split screen would allow us to show more of the getting ready process in an easy and eye-catching way. Reporting for Nurse Duty

  Hello and welcome back to my blog. It was now time for me to film my final scenes. In the last few scenes where Marvin wakes up in a hospital, I would be playing the nurse. Originally I thought Andres should play the nurse, but then I realized it would be much more interesting if I played the role. That way, it would seem like the reason why the male lead imagined me as his wife was because I was the likely the last person he saw before entering into a coma.  With this in mind, I went to change into my scrubs. In filming the first “hospital” scene, I couldn’t help but laugh at my friends acting. The contrast of the nasal tubes with the teenaged nature of Andres’ room was too funny for me to stay serious. After a while I was able to keep a straight face so that we could finish the scene. However, just as we were about to get the perfect shot, the phone we filmed on died!
