Our Pitch

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

For the final task, my group came up with two ideas.

Pitch 1: A disgruntled ballerina fights to get the attention of her dance teacher. She finds she might just have to kill her competition to do so.

Pitch 2: A teenage girl wakes up to find out she’s the only person left on earth. However, she turns out to not be as alone as she thinks.

The first pitch of the disgruntled ballerina who fights for attention was a very intriguing idea that we were interested in. However, there were a few aspects that proved to be difficult. One of these aspects was the filming location of a dance studio. It would be difficult to find one and even if we did the cost of renting it would be expensive. Another issue would be finding actors. It may be difficult to find dancers who are willing to be in this project.

The second pitch we came up with was a dystopian film. We thought this was a far more feasible idea, especially because we would only need one actress. We had previous trouble with our actors showing up, and this would mean we could work at our own pace. Plus, we have elements of a dystopian film at our disposal, such as location and costume. It also means we get to touch on the many intriguing themes of dystopian productions, like war, division, fear, and survival. Moreover, no complicated special effects are needed to film this pitch. This further the appeal of choosing the second pitch as our film idea.

These are the reasons we decided to go with our second pitch, “A teenage girl wakes up to find out she’s the only person left on earth. However, she turns out to not be as alone as she thinks.”

This is Kyra signing off!
